Aceso was founded by a team of doctors, pharmacists and AI experts with the goal of using artificial intelligence technology to bring early disease state identification to healthcare providers, combining phenotypic data and genomics into point of care diagnostics.

The development of EMR and advancement in technology have seen significant increases in patient data. Yet, this has not translated into faster diagnosis, and many specialised diseases remain undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. Our mission is to leverage the data into actionable insights at point of care, employing artificial intelligence to work towards precision medicine and solving the problem of trial-and-error prescribing.

Universal Existence

Specialised diseases are life-threatening illnesses that affect a large number of people. In fact,1 in 17 of us will be diagnosed with a rare or specialised disease at some point in our lives. This is similar to prevalent illnesses like diabetes and asthma.

Mistaken Diagnosis

Specialised and uncommon diseases often are diagnosed through eliminating other diseases. This means that patients visit different doctors for seemingly unrelated causes, making it harder to diagnose these disorders.

Avoidable Complications

Specialised disease conditions on average have three misdiagnosis, five different doctor visits, and can take up to four years for a diagnosis.

Misdiagnosis and undiagnosed diseases have economic costs in the billions around the globe.

Solution

ACESO platform captures disease features from electronic health records across patient groups. It will then use encoded diagnostic criteria to match against with patient genotypes and phenotypes, recommending providing healthcare experts with a report describing suspected disease, possible genetic causes and diagnostic pathway. With these in mind, healthcare experts combine their clinical experience to determine the best strategy to help each patient.
